Gary G. Abud, Jr.
Gary G. Abud, Jr. is an educational consultant, speaker, and writer near Detroit. He has served students in K-12 schools as a STEM teacher, curriculum specialist, and principal. Beyond K-12 education, Gary served as teacher advisor to the Michigan Department of Education State Board of Education and trained teachers as an adjunct faculty in the college of education at Saginaw Valley State University. He has co-hosted an education talk radio program for BAM Radio Network, served on the board of the Meemic Foundation, and is a co-founder of #LoveTeaching Week.
In 2014, Gary was selected as the Michigan Teacher of the Year and has been recognized for his accomplishments by the Michigan Governor’s Office, U.S. Department of Education, and the White House. He has spoken at TEDxDetroit, the Michigan Governor’s Education Summit, MACUL, and numerous conferences around the country. Gary resides with his fellow-educator wife and preschool daughter.
