Webinar Series on Competency Based Education & Blended Learning
EdTech Specialists is proud to provide webinars and conversations around Competency Based Education and Blended Learning. For the first series in 2015, we brought together leaders from across the U.S. to present to us and converse with us in a webinar setting. For the second series, we showcased Michigan Districts that are implementing various CBE models. For part three in the series, we will be talking with practitioners who have been national leaders in implementing CBE. We will also be revisiting some of the previous conversations we had in the first two series to get updates on progress on their CBE journey.

March 22, 9:00 am EST – Institute for Personalized Learning
Start with the Learner to Lead Systemic Change – In this webinar, you will get an introduction to the Institute for Personalized Learning and their Honeycomb Model, with an explanation of the how this framework supports a change strategy. Creating a system designed around personalized learning requires a shift from an instructional paradigm to a learning paradigm, which occurs with an intentional design of personalized learning elements, leading to systemic change. The Institute’s approach for systemic transformation is grounded in the Systemic Implementation of Personalized Learning Elements (SIMPLE) process. We will share this process, provide examples, and engage in dialog about how all the components of the honeycomb build on one another to eventually redesign the entire system.
